Can Neck Problems Cause Fatigue?

Physical and mental activities can make us feel tired. Tiredness helps the body to recover and grow.

Unfortunately, tiredness can take on a whole new dimension and make you suffer from a complete lack of energy or fatigue.

A growing body of evidence suggests that fatigue can be caused by underlying problems in the upper cervical region.

Neck Problems and Fatigue. One of the common causes of fatigue is the misalignment of the top two neck vertebrae.

Within your neck are seven vertebrae that protect the spine and promote smooth movement of the neck and head.

Between and around the vertebrae are disks, veins, arteries, muscles, that all work together to keep the body functioning well.

Sometimes accidents, repetitive bad posture, trauma, or diseases can affect the vertebrae forcing it out of alignment. This upper cervical injury can interfere with the proper function of the central nervous system.

Upper cervical trauma can also affect the blood flow of the surrounding nerves of the neck, thereby leading to chronic fatigue.

Chiropractic Care and Fatigue. When you first seek upper cervical chiropractic care, the specific chiropractor will conduct tests to determine the root cause of your fatigue.

If any misalignments are diagnosed, the chiropractor will administer a chiropractic adjustment and other kinds of care. This will improve the quality of your sleep.
